Create a Protected CD >>>>Cool Trick<<<

Create a Copy Protected CD #1 uNDeRCoVeR
Here's an example to copy-protect a Data CD by adding a dummy Data track so that the backup disc will have 2 Data tracks (which is in fact an Illegal Table of Contents).

Example using Crash Bandicoot 3 [PAL] (PSX):

* Get CDRWin 3.6b (or higher) and create an image of the CD (1 Mode2 data track).
The CUE-file should look something like this:
FILE "C:\TEMP\CRASH3.BIN" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
INDEX 01 00:00:00
* Go to CDRWin -> Record Disc -> Load Cuesheet and read the Total Disc Time (should be 32:36:12).
* Now add another (dummy) data track at the end of the cue file by using notepad and set it to the Total Disc Time minus 2 seconds(!).
FILE "C:\TEMP\CRASH3.BIN" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE2/2352
INDEX 01 00:00:00
TRACK 02 MODE2/2352
INDEX 01 32:34:12 <-- Total Disc Time (32:36:12) minus 2 seconds * Look at CDRWin -> Record Disc -> Disc Layout... and you will see the added track starts at 32:36:12 (not 32:34:12). The time is equal to the Lead
Out starttime, so it should not come in range of the data track.
* Now record disc with CDRWin and you will get a CD with 2 data tracks.

The Crash Bandicoot 3 game runs fine on a Playstation.

Nero Burning Rom is the only program that can make a copy of this CD using the CD-Recorder as CD-Reader. It can't be copied on a CD-ROM reader (at least not on a Plextor PX-20TS)!

This trick should also works with Mixed Mode and Audio CD's.

To create an Mixed-Mode CD with an Illegal TOC subtract 4 seconds from the total time instead of the 2 seconds (just subtract seconds until CDRWin accepts the CUE-Sheet). Keep in mind that in CDRWin the total time of the new track should be at least the lead-out time.

USED HARD- AND SOFTWARE:

* Plextor PX-R412C
* Plextor PX-20TS
* Recordable: Philips Silver Premium
* CDRWin v3.6b & v3.7a (Win98)

Create a Copy Protected CD #2
Here's an another example to copy-protect a Data CD by adding a dummy Data track so that the backup disc will have 2 Data tracks.

If the second track has a different CD "mode" than the first then the CD WON'T BE COPIED AT ALL. Tried it on Heroes of Might & Magic 3 and NERO, CDRWin and EasyCD are not able to copy it.

Use the following CDRWin CUE-Sheet to write the CD.
FILE "HMM3.BIN" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
INDEX 01 00:00:00
TRACK 02 MODE2/2352
INDEX 01 73:30:45

Top 5 HACKERS

1. Kevin Mitnick.

Mitnick is perhaps synonymous with Hacker. The Department of Justice still refers to him as "the most wanted computer criminal in United States history." His accomplishments were memorialized into two Hollywood movies: Takedown and Freedom Downtime.
Mitnick got his start by exploiting the Los Angeles bus punch card system and getting free rides. Then similar to Steve Wozniak, of Apple, Mitnick tried Phone Phreaking. Mitnick was first convicted for hacking into the Digital Equipment Corporation's computer network and stealing software.
Mitnick then embarked on a two and a half year coast to coast hacking spree. He has stated that he hacked into computers, scrambled phone networks, stole corporate secrets and hacked into the national defense warning system. His fall came when he hacked into fellow computer expert and hacker Tsutomu Shimomura's home computer.
Mitnick is now a productive member of society. After serving 5 years and 8 months in solitary confinement, he is now a computer security author, consultant and speaker.
2. Adrian Lamo

Lamo hit major organizations hard, hacking into Microsoft and The New York Times. Lamo would use Internet connections at coffee shops, Kinko's and libraries to achieve his feats earning him the nickname "The Homeless Hacker". Lamo frequently found security flaws and exploited them. He would often inform the companies of the flaw.
Lamo's hit list includes Yahoo!, Citigroup, Bank of America and Cingular. Of course White Hat Hackers do this legally because they are hired by the company to such, Lamo however was breaking the law.
Lamo's intrusion into The New York Times intranet placed him squarely into the eyes of the top cyber crime offenders. For this crime, Lamo was ordered to pay $65,000 in restitution. Additionally, he was sentenced to six months home confinement and 2 years probation. Probation expired January of 2007. Lamo now is a notable public speaker and award winning journalist.
3. Jonathan James

At 16 years old, James gained enormous notoriety when he was the first minor to be sent to prison for hacking. He later admitted that he was just having fun and looking around and enjoyed the challenge.
James hit high profile organizations including the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, which is an agency of the Department of the Defense. With this hack he was able to capture usernames and passwords and view highly confidential emails.
High on James list, James also hacked in NASA computers and stole software valued at over $1.7 million. The Justice Department was quoted as saying: "The software stolen by James supported the International Space Station's physical environment, including control of the temperature and humidity within the living space." Upon discovering this hack, NASA had to shut dow its entire computer system costing taxpayers $41,000. Today James aspires to start a computer security company.
4. Robert Tappan Morris

Morris is the son of a former National Security Agency scientist named Robert Morris. Robert is the creator of the Morris worm. This worm was credited as the first computer worm spread through the Internet. Because of his actions, he was the first person to be prosecuted under the 1986 Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.
Morris created the worm while at Cornell as a student claiming that he intended to use the worm to see how large the Internet was at the time. The worm, however, reproduced itself uncontrollably, shutting down many computers until they had completely malfunctioned. Experts claim 6,000 machines were destroyed. Morris was ultimately sentenced to three years' probation, 400 hours of community service and assessed a $10,500 fine.
Morris is now a tenured professor at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. His focus is computer network architecture.
5. Kevin Poulsen

Frequently referred to as Dark Dante, Poulsen gained national recognition for his hack into Los Angeles radio's KIIS-FM phone lines. These actions earned him a Porsche among many other items.
The FBI began to search for Poulson, when he hacked into the FBI database and federal computers for sensitive wiretap information. Poulsen's specialty was hacking into phone lines and he frequently took over all of a station's phone lines. Poulson also reactivated old Yellow Page escort telephone numbers for a partner who operated a virtual escort agency. Poulson was featured on Unsolved Mysteries and then captured in a supermarket. He was assessed a sentence of five years.
Since his time in prison, Poulsen has worked as a journalist and was promoted to senior editor for Wired News. His most popular article details his work on identifying 744 sex offenders with Myspace profiles.

Automatic Refreshh

AUTOMATIC WINDOWS REFRESH

normally there is small delay after some info changed before it reflects in GUI. if u need to see info quickly , u would need to press F5. the following will enable system to do faster update:

navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROL SET\CONTROL\UPDATE

for faster update change the DWORD value called UpdateMode tp 0 and reboot

TURN OFF WINDOWS ANIMATION

TURN OFF WINDOWS ANIMATION

windows animation like thoese that happen when u minimises or maximise windows look good... but only if u have good ram , speed. to get most performance out of ur settings turn off this settings . you could do it via a host of setting in GUI, but this registry hack does it all in single fell swoop.

navigate to :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\CONTROL PANEL\DESKTOP\WINDOWSMETRICS

change the value MinAnimation too 0 to disable winbdows Animation

restart computer

DISABLE THUMBNAIL CACHING

DISABLE THUMBNAIL CACHING

Explorer feature includes to display thumbnail of images and fram of video when seeen in thumbnail viw. explorer can either creat it when u access the folder or fetch it from the thumbnail cache. fetching thumbnails from cache is significantly faster, but will consume a lots of hard disk space specially if ur system if full of images and video.

navigate to :

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WIN DOWS\CURRENTVERSION\EXPLORER\ADVANCED

set DWORD value DisableThumbnailCache to 1 if u have low hard disk space. otherwise its good to leave it zero ... it can be useful

Disable user Tracking

DISABLE USER TRACKING

useless to most user-expert perhaps for system admin XP's inbuilt user tracking system uses up presious resourses.

the system keeps of track of programs run by users, the paths followed and documents used. disable this to free up resources.

navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\win dows\currentversion\policies\explorer

set the DWORD NoInstrumentation to 1. this will disable most of user tracking feature of xp.

Unload Unused Dlls

UNLOAD UNUSED DLLs

after as application is closed, XP has the annoying habit of leaving the associated DLL files in memory. This can hog precious resource and memory, and also cause stability problem. make the DLLs unload themselves from memory when program is done running

navigate to :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft|wi ndows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AlwaysUnlo adDLL

and if DWORD AlwaysUnloadDLL is not present, u need to creat it. set the value of "(default)" setting to 1 Application associated Dlls will get unload when app is closed.

Optimize ur Boot Files

OPTIMISATION OF THE BOOT FILES

normally file fragmentation scatters pieces of a file all over hard disk. this invariable also affect files that load at boot time. u can defragment the files that load at system startup to enable faster loading.

navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Df rg\BootOptimizeFunction

A setting called Enable under this key needs to set to Y for yes. this setting defragments the boot files, and it might relocate startup files into contiguous clusters on the volume, reducing the movement of disk head when reading volume.

reboot

LOAD APPLICATION FASTER

LOAD APPLICATION FASTER

the windows prefetcher aims to load app. faster by prefetching the app and storing it in the prefetch cache. you can speed up app. loading by changing the default value of the settings under relevant key.

navigate to :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControl Set\Control|SessionManager\Memory Managagement\PrefetchParameters

the default value for EnablePrefetcher setting is 3 Now change this value to 5 to make app. load faster, u can experiment with higher values up to 8 and see if you get a further improvement.

and since related to system a reboot is req. for change to take effect.
(always note u can not expect much that your RAM)
